Electromechanic (Evening Shift)

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Evening Electromechanic will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and servicing production equipment in an efficient and safe manner. He or she will be required to support the production, quality and engineering teams regarding various issues or projects related to equipment improvement and implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Equipment troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and repair equipment to ensure proper functioning and reliability.
  • Disassemble, assemble, and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components of machines.
  • Document work orders, end-of-shift reports and equipment maintenance.
  • Occasionally perform minor repairs on infrastructure, buildings, or tools.

Preventive maintenance

  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment (e.g., lubrication, replacement of defective parts, usage checks, etc.).
  • Analyze, identify and correct recurring problems on the equipment.

Machine Improvement Project (occasionally):

  • Participate in improvement, automation and robotization projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering for installation, equipment optimization and workstation improvements.

REQUIREMENTS, QUALITIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Vocational diploma (DEP) in electromechanics, industrial mechanics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Versatility, resourcefulness, strong learning ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in French.
  • Commitment to quality, health and safety, and a job well done.
  • Good physical condition.
  • Written comprehension of English – reading technical documentation.
  • Hold a valid driver's license – travel required between our two Laval plants.
  • Knowledge of automation, robotics, welding and electricity (asset).
